Democritus developed the concept of the atom and believed that everything in the universe was made up of them. He was also the first philosopher to propose that what we refer to as the 'Milky Way' was light from stars and that the universe may be a multi-verse with other planets sustaining life."Happiness resides not in possessions, and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul."
