Former Marine and later Governor of Colorado, Jason Burke ran for president as a moderate republican. Burke had campaigned to end the recession, stop the growing influence of russia and china, stop illegal immigration as well as legalize marijuana nationwide. Burke barely won the election against Morgan Yu and took the seat in the oval office. As the recession was hitting hard, Burke still had to repair the damages done by the federations of the americas. With the introduction of a new age addictive drug called “red Ice,” the unemployment rate got higher and the economy worsened. This widespread use of the drug was referred to as the “Red Ice Epidemic” which got worse with the introduction of androids taking jobs. In 2034 the president sent soldiers to the island of Altis and Stratis to prevent CSAT presence in the area with the help of NATO. Burke poured tax dollar money into repairing San Diego, San Francisco, and El Paso which caused the economy to dip even further. In 2035, NATO left Altis and Stratis which caused a rise in CSAT presence on the islands which Burke intervened. The American public saw this as unnecessary because attention needed to be focused on the people and the economy. Burke, however, saw the intervention in Altis as necessary to prevent the spread of CSAT influence in the mediterranian. By the end of the year, NATO was successful in placing a new Altis government without the CSAT presence in the area. This resulted in US troops leaving the Islands by the beginning of 2036. As the recession continues, Burke asserts NATO’s presence in the mediterranian by having a foothold in the Horizon Islands which will grant access to more military operations in the area while having a stable presence in the mediterranian to prevent CSAT expansion. Democrat Cristina Warren ran as the Democratic Nominee for the Presidential election of 2036. The crippling recession caused Warren to win the Presidential Election of 2036. At the beginning of 2037 in January, President Burke attended a C3 summit in Iakoo beach resort in Hawaii to discuss world relations with eastern and western nations. During this Summit President Burke was kidnapped and held for ransom by a terrorist group Known as the SGS. Burke was eventually rescued with no ransom being paid, however the summit was ruined with no rescheduling for the summit in the future because Warren had a very different foreign policy.
