The Great Khan Jom He'desh united the Orassian raiders into the Orassian Khanate and immediately invaded the Torian Enlightened Kingdom. The Great Khan led a powerful fleet protecting their new planetary capital while his three equally powerful fleets expanded into Torian space capturing system after system and planet after planet until the GC recognized the crisis finally (the Confederacy didn't acknowledge the Khanate crisis for about 5 years because they didn't realize the threat and simply wanted the Torians brought down a notch). The Confederacy sent the Second and Third Terran Fleets, and the First Human Fleet alongside the 1st Legion to Torian Space to liberate their worlds and push back the Orassians to their Starbase Cluster in the Heaven's Gate System. The Orassians were space faring raiders since before the end of the Machine Age. Machines having destroyed their home systems and forcing their entire species into giant space station habitats to survive. The First Human Fleet was sent to recapture all core Torian systems and destroy the Orassian fleet before it reached the Torian's Homeworld. The Second and Third Terran Fleets were sent to destroy all Orassian influence in the old Eastern Torian Empire back to their starbase cluster while aiding the 1st Legion in the liberation of Torian worlds. In 2368 The 1HF failed to catch the Orassian fleet headed to the Torian Homeworld. The Orassians bombared the planet to the point it was theorized that over half of the Torian homeworld was devastated by nuclear fallout and generalized extreme damage to infrastructure on the planet to the point that the Torian Enlightened Kingdom surrendered to the Orassian Khanate and swore fealty to the Great Khan essentially making the Torian Empire and the Vivisandian people(Torian enlightened Pre-FTL puppet state) into tributary states to the Khanate. After getting word of this, Archon Octavia sent her daughter Victoria and Victoria's new Fleet to liberate the Vivisandian homeworld and system from the Orassians. It was the Third Terran fleet that decided enough was enough and initiated the Battle of Heaven's Gate even though being told by the Archon herself otherwise. Following the bloodest battle in Humanity's history up to that point, with the death of the Great Khan and the destruction of all but one of the four Grand Orassian Fleets had caused the Orassians to surrender. After announcing their surrender they also declared the formation of the "Democratic Orassian Khanate".
