The treaty of Versailles was one of the most important treaties of all time and stopped one of the biggest wars of all time. The reason it was implicated was because no one wanted to go on with the war and Germany had no choice but to surrender. It had a massive effect on Germany as they were stripped of basically all defences and had to pay a lot of money to pay for all the damages. Although the actual signing and confirming of the Treaty of Versailles finished about six months later, it took Germany till 2010 to pay the final payment for reparations in the war. So the Treaty had a very big and long lasting effect on Germany as the total payment they had payed by October 3rd 2010 was a whooping 33 billion us dollars.
