Isabella and Ferdinand started the Spanish Inquisition. Its purpose was to unify Spain, and eliminate all religions except Catholicism through tribunals and brutality. They persecuted Jewish and Protestant people in Spain. There was a reward for turning in heretics to the Inquisition; the person would receive all of their property and belongings.
