Coca Cola’s popularity had grown along with its competition. Dozens of impersonations of the cola that Pemberton had devised. Thi lead the marketing team at Coca Cola to set up a contest for the ability to design the new Coke bottle. The Root Glass Company of Terre Haute Indiana won. Their design being that of the coca plant. Their design was streamlined as it was to clunky. The redesign named the contour bottle was shaped like the womanly figure and designed to fit comfortably in the hand.

Cokes reached had surpassed American borders at this point shipments of Coke to Canada, Panama, Puerto Rico and, Fance.
