Notable Chess Players:
1 - Red players with gold text are world champions
2 - Red players with white text are considered world champion caliber (subjective and usually for players from before the title existed formally)
3 - Green players are eminent chess players
4 - Blue players are influential in chess history (and maybe not a top player in their own right)

Notable Events:
1- Gold Events - Chess Championships where the title exchanged hands
2 - Orange Events - eminent or influential chess tournaments or matches
