Alexander Fleming (1881-1955) was a bacteriologist and a doctor who was the pioneer of penicillin and lysozyme. On Nov 1921, Fleming discovered lysozyme while dealing with a cold. He had a drop mucus from his nose onto a number of bacteria. After a few weeks, he discovered that the bacteria has dissolved. This was Alexander Fleming's first discovery to the human immune system.
Edward Jenner (1749-1823) was a doctor who was also the pioneer of smallpox vaccine. He did an experiment to an eight-year-old boy where he takes the pus from cowpox and inserted it into the boy's arm. He was doing this experiment to prove his theory that he discovered from the folklore of the countryside. Many children had resulted in death due to smallpox.
Alexandar Fleming was also the pioneer of penicillin. He discovered the penicillin by accident. Fleming came back to his laboratory after a vacation with his family. He found out that there was Staphyloccoci aureus he left on a bench was being covered with mold. The staphylococci around the mold disappeared.
John Snow (1813-1858) was an English Epidemiologist and best known for his work about cholera. In his time people thought that cholera was a problem from the air-borne. He did an investigation and also made a water pump map. Without his investigation, people will suffer from cholera. He concluded that cholera was spread through water and not the air.
Walter Reed (1851-1902 was a phatologist and bacteriologist. He was proved that yellow fever was transmitted through a mosquito. He had no strong evidence that the yellow fever was transmitted by a mosquito but there was one evidence that supported his theory. He got his evidence by mentioning that a house can get infected due to the presence of mosquitos.
Louis Pasteur (1822-1895) is a scientist that was the pioneer of pasteurization which a food preparing process. He started off attempting to resolve the problem about the tartaric acid (chemical found in wine sentiments) He completed his research on April 20,1862.
