Constantinople (Byzantium) becomes the capital of the Roman Empire
The Roman Empire divides in half, with the Eastern Roman Empire based in Constantinople and the Western Roman Empire based in Rome/Ravenna.
The Sack of Rome occurred on August 24, 410. The city was attacked by the Visigoths led by King Alaric.
