Rome was a dangerous place
Pompey's allies in the Senate ordered Caesar to give up command of his armies
Caesars army chased Pompey's forces and eventually killed him
Caesar returned to Rome and renamed himself the Dictator for life
after Caesar returned home, a group of senators attacked and killed Caesar
Antony and Octavian soundly defeated their opponents. after the battle the last of Caesars murderers killed themselves
Octavian sent a fleet to attack Antony, he sailed out to to meet it, they met west of Greece in the battle of Actium, Antony's fleet was defeated, but he escaped back to Egypt with Cleopatra. and they committed suicide so they wouldn't be taken prisoner by Octavian
