Home Knitting Machine Invented - -When the home knitting machine was invented it made domestic women’s life easier. They were now able to make there on fabrics from the comfort of their homes. Now making clothes was made easer as they didn’t even need to leave home to get fabrics. Although this was a major convince, lots of jobs were taken away because of this invention and many people working in the fabric making industry were out of income.
The Hattersley Loom Invented By George Hattersley and Sons-- The Hattersley loom weaved new fabrics like Rayon and artificial silk. This invention made new fabrics and at a moderately fast speed with these new fabrics in the hands of fashion designers it changed the textiles industry. The invention also created jobs in the textiles industry and economic growth in England where the Hattersley Loom was first used and invented.
Nylon invented- The invention of Nylon changed the fashion industry from a business perspective of the industry. Nylon was much cheaper and easier to make then other fabrics and it lasted longer as well. Factories realised that using Nylon was much easier and affordable and at the same time beneficial to the buyer. It was beneficial to the buyer because it lasted longer and was more durable. This impacted the textiles industry and businesses in the industry as they started to save much more money
John Whinfield and James Dickson first invented polyester-- In the 1960s textiles industry, Polyester was one of the cheapest fabrics almost everything was made of it. Polyester was easy and cheap to make. This was very convenient for factories making the clothing. Although now there have been negative effects of the major use of polyester, as polyester is made of oil and there is a lot of pollution made by the fabric. This has given the textiles industry a bad name.
Heinrich Mauersberger invents the Malimo Machine-- The invention of the Malimo machine impacting the industry and the strength of the fabric. The Malimo machine strengthened the fibres in the fabric and increased it durability. This was a positive impact for buyers as they could now buy clothing that could last longer. The Malimo machine also had a positive impact on the industry as the machine added more stability with more design flexibility.
Fibre reactive dye invented Fibre reactive dye being invented has had a major effect on the textiles industry. This new way of dying fibres are much more fast and effective then other dying goods. Fibre reactive dye have good secure properties for when the dye is bonding to the fibres. The invention of fibre reactive dye has impacted the industry in a way where dying is more even and safer to get a good look.
Open-end spinning developed in Czechoslovaki Open-end spinning was a new technology of making yarn without using a spindle. The invention is much less reliant on worker which is a negative impact on the industry as many workers would be fired and a lot less jobs in the industry would be available. The production of yarn as definitely sped up due to this invention making it easier for businesses in the industry to obtain yarn, the rotor can speed up to 140,000 rmp.
Laser printing invented – The textiles industry has been majorly effected by textiles machines laser printing onto clothing, like jeans and shirts. Designs are created on material more quickly and are more unique for designers. Although the positives of laser printing there have however been negatives. Now people can create their own designs of fabric less making fabric sales decline in the industry.
3-D Printers invented – 3D printing has made a big impact now and in the future. 3D printing will be used on smaller and durable fibres to make clothing. There are however some negatives. Now that people can just make clothes at home this cuts out the middle man. there is no more need for manufactures if you can just make your own at home. This invention will put many out of work.
Digital printing invented – as laser printing has evolved digital/layered printing has been invented. Layered printing has also been translated into clothing, which makes designs more interesting to buyers, which has positive impacts on the industry. The negative impacts on the textiles industry however have increased automation and this has decreased lots of work in the industry.
