ACT UP is an AIDS advocacy group formed in New York to combat negative impacts of AIDS on the LGBTQIA+ community. The group targeted pharmaceutical companies that benefitting from selling life-saving AIDS medicine at high prices. They also brought attention to the lack of political policy protecting the rights of AIDS patients.
