13 май 1884 г. - Congress passes bill (23 Stat 21) repealing the "Ironclad Oath" specified in law on 07/02/1862. Rather than requiring an oath that the individual has not previously engaged in disloyal conduct (i.e., "the rebellion") the new oath only requires a promise prospectively to "support and defend the Constitution. . . "
