- Went on strike because legislation cut how much women could work, so they weren’t getting paid as much
- Mayor of Lawrence calls in the police and MA militia
- Gunfire ensues, strikers and supporters die
- Militia decides children can’t leave the city, women charged with neglect of their children
- Police instructed to shoot to kill
- 10 weeks after, the strike ends in FAVOR OF WORKERS
