The Xianfeng Emperor, born in 1831, was the 9th emperor of the Qing dynasty, ruling from 1850 to 1861, during a tumultuous period marked by internal rebellions and foreign invasions, including the Second Opium War. He was the son of the Daoguang Emperor and the father of the Tongzhi Emperor, who succeeded him after his death.
