In 1143, the Treaty of Zamora was held between D. Afonso Henriques, King Afonso VII and Cardinal Guido de Vico (legate of the Pope), resulting in a peace treaty between the county of Portucale, and the kingdoms of Leon and Castile.

Afonso VII recognizes the title of king for D. Afonso Henriques, christening the birth of the kingdom of Portucale
