1 янв 1968 г. - The founding of the DFLP
Описание:
The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) is a secular Marxist–Leninist and Maoist Palestinian organization founded in 1968 by Nayef Hawatmeh, after splitting from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). It is a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), the Alliance of Palestinian Forces, and the Democratic Alliance List.
The DFLP aims to create a democratic Palestinian state where Arabs and Jews live without discrimination. It is known for the 1974 Ma'alot massacre and maintains the National Resistance Brigades as its paramilitary wing. Over time, the DFLP has shifted from armed struggle to supporting a two-state solution and has been involved in various peace processes.
Despite its significant historical role, the DFLP's influence has waned, and it has faced challenges from both internal divisions and external pressures. It remains active among Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and Syria and continues to have a presence in Palestinian politics, albeit with limited impact.
