A human-lizard attacks in New York. Peter Parker, investigating, discovers that it is fellow lab assistant Carlie Cooper. Confronting her, they discover that Curtis Conner has been experimenting on them both (Peter's spider powers made him immune). Cooper is referred to the Future Foundation, who are able to stabilize her condition.
