A vessel falls through the Great K'ythri, containing the Spike spores, burrowing parasites which infect hosts, causes bone grows, and hyper-rage. A percentage of the population is immune, known as the Oldstrong. The Asan dynasty is destroyed, and power transitions from Kings to Warlords who seize control. The plague takes generations to wipe out, largely due to the lack of new hosts.
