MY DEAR BARON: Prof. Frankfurter has brought me your kind greetings and, with them, much that is encouraging and enlightening in his report of the conferences with you and with our good friend Weizmann concerning our great cause. It is very fortunate for all of us that you and for us [sic] that we have the deep sympathy and help of your son James.

Prof. Frankfurter and Mr. Lewin-Epstein have acquainted you with the situation here. Possibly it may interest you to look over a few of my addresses which will show you how I have deemed it wise to present our cause to the American public. They go under another cover.¹
