1 янв 1834 г. - Siege of Al-Karak
Описание:
Qasim al-Ahmad and his sons Yusuf and Muhammad, along with Isa al-Barqawi, sought refuge in Al-Karak after fleeing Hebron during the fighting of the Peasants' Revolt. They were harbored by a Bedouin clan associated with the Anizzah tribal confederation. However, Ibrahim Pasha's forces pursued them and besieged Al-Karak for 17 days. Despite the resistance, the town's walls were breached in late August, leading to its destruction. Additionally, punitive measures were taken against the countryside for sheltering Qasim.
Fearing further reprisals from Ibrahim Pasha, the chief of the Anizzah clan, Duwaikhi Al-Samir, decided to hand over the rebel leaders to the Egyptian authorities. This action marked the end of Qasim's resistance and the final blow to the rebellion in that region.
