The first satellite is launched into orbit of the Earth via. the Cosmos V rocket.

First picture was taken from the AFA base in Philadelphia, where the rocket was launched.

Second picture was taken from a telescope in Germany, showing the Cosmos V satellite shining its bright, white light.
