We had heard mutters of a new enemy on the south shore of the main land, but we did not expect to be attacked by them any tine soon. These tall elves bore gauntlets of magic and weapons of a new metal. they seemed to never sleep and there were easily a thousand of them. The council decided to make it seem like the number of us was less. They planned to hold out for only so long, but move most of the women and children and many of the men to the undercity, a massive cavernous space that sat under the city proper. the council greeted the elves after the white flag was waved, and pretended to be defeated.

the elves never found out.
