American psychologist who was the first American to receive a Ph.D in psychology in Germeny and he studied under Wilhelm Wundt. He introduced the concept of mental testing and his work laid the groundwork for the assessment of individual differences and the measurement of cognitive abilities. in 1887 he established the first psychological laboratory in the United States at the University of Pennsylvania. Cattel also conducted research on learning and memory and explored ways to improve teaching methods based on psychological insights. Finally, Cattell was involved in the founding of the American Psychological Association (APA) in 1892 and served as its president in 1895 (Pillsbury, 1949).Добавлено на ленту времени:
