SWARM was a token representing the Swarm Corporation which funded "coin-powered accelerators to incubate and coach young businesses". It was the first project on Counterparty to try to facilitate a 'crowdfunding' process like Kickstarter, but backed on Counterparty assets. The Swarm official website stated at launch: 'accepted companies will raise more money faster and with reduced costs. Swarm companies will offer investors real equity in turn for investment dollars instead of being limited to gifts or early access to products.'
