Even though television had been used for instructional purposes prior to 1950. It was during the 1950's that we saw an increase in Educational use of television. This included a big production of educational videos for both students and adults. The two big factors that helped develop educational programming during this time period was the Federal Communications Comission (FCC), which set aside a significant amount of channels for the purpose of education, and the Ford Foundation, which funded educational channels in several areas.
