The Crisis known as the Lunacy left a large and damaging impact on space agencies all around the world, particularly NASA, who was widely criticized for their decision to keep the L.U.N.A. operation hidden from public knowledge.

Investment in space travel dropped off a cliff throughout the decade following the Lunacy, and the still-present radiation levels surrounding the earth from Patrick Bone's nuclear detonation also made space travel difficult, especially for crewed missions who could not withstand it.

In order to save face and also save their finances, NASA officially announced their merger with the Space Agencies of Europe, Israel, Japan, India and Australia-New-Zealand. This new Multinational Space Administration was the most world governments ever involved in a single shared project, and even though it did not encompass ALL nations with space programs, it was enough to put the M.S.A. at the forefront of space exploration.

The main holdouts for this merger were China, Russia, and Saudi Arabia, due to political disagreements at the time, but their lack of funding and wide-spread organization would lead them to eventually agree to merge into the International Space Administration 42 years later.
