Walter Hardy is arrested for a crime he did not commit but for which he is professionally framed. In the course of the trial, his long history of crimes comes to light, bringing his life crumbling down. The police seize his assets as the proceeds or instrumentalities of criminal activity, and leave Lydia and Felicia destitute.
