Hundreds of military personnel have been deployed to hospitals and ambulance services in England in order to help the NHS cope with crippling staff shortages as Covid cases remain high.

Two hundred members of the military will be sent to hospitals across London, where they are due to be stationed for the next three weeks, the Ministry of Defence said.
