Major Event 2: Andreas Lubitz, an airplane first officer who had been previously treated for depression, locked the pilot out of the cockpit of Germanwings flight 9525 and proceeded to drive the plane straight down into the French Alps on March 24 with no survivors left. The scheduled route had been from Barcelona to Dusseldorf before Lubitz interfered and took down all 144 passengers and 6 crew members due to his suicidal thinking.
