The Atëswama Kingdom is considered to be the first Iopon civilization. For the first 100 years, the city-state controlled much of the Ëno Bay ship traffic, allowing it to grow strong in naval tradition. Constant conflicts between Atëswama and the neighboring city-states of Aëňoňëya (Anoiňã) and Kaňobëlta (Anẽplad) occurred throughout much of Atëswama's early history. It wasn't until the 4th Kaňob War that the city of Kaňobëlta came under Atëswaman control in 550 BG. Once Atëswama gained Kaňobëlta, its rise as a dominant power quickly grew as the city-state of Aëňoňëya fell before the end of the 6th Century BG. Atëswama conquered the entire Io Peninsula by the late 300s BG and under King Möropo Tïrïkshis, the Kingdom of Iopo was organized. By the point of the creation of Iopo, the majoirty of the Onañus, Velxas, Iopa, and Southern Lesser Penta Regions, spoke Old Iopon
