1 янв 1948 г. - First electronic stored program computer (SSEM)

Описание:

The historical importance of the SSEM is notable as it is the first stored-program electronic computer in history [2] and the first computer in history based on the von Neumann architecture. These two firsts make SSEM the closest progenitor of modern programmable computers.[3]

Designed and built in 1948 at the Victoria University of Manchester (Manchester, UK) by Frederic Calland Williams, Tom Kilburn and Geoff Tootill, the SSEM went into operation on June 21, 1948. The first program that ran there was to calculate the maximum factor of a given number and consisted of only 17 instructions.
