The founding of Jeep was actually a very important event in US history. It happened by the United States military wanted a vehicle for World War II. They enlisted hundreds of automobile companies to try and find this vehicle. The American Bantam car company and Karl Probst answer the call to make these vehicles. After they had made the Prototype the job was given to Willis and Ford to continue. The vehicles were used in World War II. And we're actually named Jeep because they were sorted for Government Purposes during World War II and it eventually got slurred to GP which sounded like Jeep. Therefore this is how she got its name. After World War II a man called Henry Kaiser bought Jeep for $60 million and started to make vehicles that could be driven for an all-time purpose. This is very important to American history as the cars were used for military purposes and are very common cars that are used in the United States today. This is how Jeep was founded and why it is important to American history today.
