On January 6, 2021, a mob of protesters destroyed the capital. This may not be considered a protest but more of “a terror attack”. This was following the defeat of President Donald Trump's presidential election. A mob of his supporters attacked the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. This event disrupted a joint session of the U.S. Congress that was in the process of confirming the presidential election results. This was the whole reason why people attacked the capital. Their goal was to keep President Donald Trump in office by attacking the capital and preventing the joint session. Apparently, they also tried to find lawmakers so they could capture and harm them.

There were over 2 thousand people in the mob that attacked the capital. The damages caused by attackers cost over 2.7 million dollars. Many people were injured because of this. 138 police officers were injured during the attack on the capitol. 73 Capitol Police and 65 Metropolitan Police were injured. Some with severe injuries like concussions, rib fractures, burns and even a mild heart attack.
