Описание:
Since trains would get places in less time then there would be collisions because everyone was on a different schedule. So everyone started using different time zones that they placed in four areas. In 1918 President Woodrow Wilson signed the Standard Time Act. These established and federally mandated time zones across the nation. This also started Day Light Savings which started on March 31st. By doing Day Light saving they were following Germany which had already shifted their time. The time zones are very important because it helps to maintain order. It also helps regulate the day and night across the globe. Time zones typically follow longitude, but sometimes they can be a matter of convenience. Time zones are even used in space. The International Space Station follows GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), which is 5 hours ahead of ET in the U.S. Without time zones people would be getting places to early or to late. Time Zones are very important to America.
