This event also known as Operation Menu is when the U.S. bombs Cambodia. U.S. bombing planes were originally aimed at South Vietnam. President Nixon approved the mission to change the course of the bombs to bomb Cambodia. A total of 3,630 flights dropped a total of 110,00 tons of bombs on Cambodia for a 14 month period. These Bombings were part of a secret mission during the Vietnam War. The main reason for bombing cambodia was because the Ho Chi Minh trail was in Cambodia and it was the main was of transport for North Vietnam soldiers.
