2/3 of the laws passed one was on January 2nd 1650
which was

the rump passed an engagement act

this Secured the Peace of the Commonwealth. The purpose of the act was to require all officeholders, military officers, and members of Parliament to sign an oath recognizing the authority of the Commonwealth government and pledging their allegiance to it.

The act was passed in response to concerns about Royalist uprisings and foreign invasion during the Commonwealth period, and aimed to ensure the loyalty of those in positions of power. The oath required by the act included a pledge to defend the Commonwealth against all enemies and to uphold the laws and liberties of the people.
