To reduce the prevalence of rabies in Pakistan, the government and health regulatory bodies should employ a multidisciplinary strategy. Significant public and healthcare worker education on appropriate and urgent PET is required immediately, particularly on the use of cost-effective cell culture intradermal regimens. An independent agency is required to monitor vaccine quality, and strategies to preserve the cold chain are required. To meet national demands, purified equine rabies immunoglobulin (ERIG) should be produced locally. Furthermore, effective dog control measures should be implemented in order to reduce the rabies reservoir.
