A conflict between Russia and Japan over the area of Manchuria, Korea. In the End the Russian were defeated which was a huge humiliation for them.
This was a cause for the Russian Revolution because the people of Russia were outraged that they had lost to a small country like Japan. Morale and nationalism fell and people were embarrassed that they had lost.
