Anne wakes up after having a nightmare and screaming throughout the whole night. She had a nightmare that the Nazis found them and took her away to a concentration camp. Then Mr. Dussle wakes up outraged and goes to sleep in the bathroom outraged by the situation. Then Mr. and Mrs. Frank bust into the room to comfort their daughter and Mrs. Frank sees the horror and effects of war. Anne requests to have her father comfort her for the rest of the night rather than her mother. Mrs. Franks's feelings are extremely hurt.
