When Tyler leaves for college, he leaves Tara with a CD of choir songs, and tells Tara that she should go to college so that she can have a life outside of Buck’s Peak. Tyler telling her this makes her resolve to go to college, originally for a degree in music, but eventually a different degree after her horizons are broadened.
