The German- Soviet Non-Aggression Pact stated that they would not attack each other or the countries that divided them for ten years. It is also called the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.
There was two part to the German- Soviet Non-Aggression Pact one public one and a private one, the public part was the aggression pact which was signed for 10 years and then an addition 5 years if neither one of them wanted to remove their signature. The secret part was what counties they each owned in eastern Europe.
After attacking Poland they moved to take over the county’s that they respectively wanted in eastern Europe.
Hitler acted as though the pact was temporary and had always planned on betraying the pact and going against the rules.
Effects:
1. Not even 2 years later Hitler planned an attack on the Soviet Union
2. Lead to the join invasion of Poland a month later
3. Paved the way for World War ii to start
