Stamp Act was on one of the intolerable acts. Its purpose was to tax the colonists because the British needed money after the seven year war and the loyalists think they need the colonists to pay them back after the British Empire spent so much protecting the colonies during the seven year war. The colonists dislike the stamp act because they think that it is a violation of their rights of Englishmen. Soon, a secret group called the “Sons of Liberty” rebelled and turned violent. They would attack and intimate the tax collectors and the taxes would never be efficiently collected.
