During the Cold War, Wilsonian Tactics were upheld in all but name as the United States worked to spread and maintain the power of democracies across the world. This goal was most apparent among the satellite countries around Communist states like China and the USSR. Nowhere was this fight put to its limits more than in Vietnam, where the US met with a crushing defeat they could not escape due to political pressure from a long dead president.
