The Boston Massacre was a standoff between a mob of angry colonists and British troops. The crowd started throwing snowballs and shouted at the troops. Then the British troops fired into the crowd, killing five people. The colonists used this as propaganda against the British. This incident only fueled the already kindling anger of the colonists.
