AMBER HEARD has managed to inadvertently intensify engagement rumours swirling about her and Johnny Depp by stepping out with a very large ring on her wedding finger. Even more telling than the ring itself was Heard's behaviour as she was photographed leaving the LA restaurant where she was dining with a friend: clutching her left hand tightly and waiting for someone to open the car door for her, rather than let go of her concealed hand.

Heard and Depp met on the set of The Rum Diary in 2012 and were rumoured to be a couple following his split with his partner of 14 years, Vanessa Paradis, later the same year. Paradis and Depp have two children together - Lily-Rose and John, known as Jack.

Depp has been engaged four times - latterly to Paradis, and previously to actresses Jennifer Grey (of Dirty Dancing fame), Sherilyn Fenn and Winona Ryder (resulting in a now-defunct "Winona Forever" tattoo) - and was married in the early Eighties to Lori Anne Allison. Despite years of marriage rumours during his relationship with Kate Moss, she and Depp were never engaged.

Depp and Heard made their debut as a couple late last week at the 2014 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala in Los Angeles and both attended the Golden Globes, although they did not walk the red carpet together.
