After doing some work with UNICEF in the past with campaigns such as visiting UNICEF’s Emergency Operation Centre (OPSCEN), held charity concerts with benefits going to UNICEF and was a national spokesperson for their Trick-or-Treat campaign (where students go door-to-door collecting donations), she was appointed as an ambassador. At just 17-years old, Selena was the youngest American UNICEF Ambassador. With UNICEF she traveled to Chile and Ghana.
