Thomas Jefferson failed to do anything about slavery in the Declaration of Independence. He owned a lot of slaves and just like everyone thought they were below them. He said all men were created equal except what he meant is that all white men are created equal. He still thought black people were inferior and changed nothing in the Declaration of Independence.
