After Georgia created a law stating that non-Indians could not live on Indian land, Worcester was arrested for living on the lands
Supreme Court ruled that Georgia didn't have the right to infringe on the tribe's sovereignty (nullified the law)
Showed that the Supreme Court could not enforce laws when Jackson refused to acknoledge the decision
