7 окт 1763 г. - The Proclamation Line

Описание:

After the Seven Years War, the Native Americans had to live fully with the British, who they (mostly) didn’t have a good relationship with; especially not after the war. The British were worried about how they might respond, and wanted to keep them (temporarily) quiet/satisfied. To achieve this, the British drew a line down the Appalachian Mountains, and reserved all land West of that for only the Native Americans. This would hopefully keep them quiet, by letting them have their own land that colonists couldn’t settle on.
As colonists fought in the Seven Years War, one of their main goals was to expand their territories westward. So when the British decided to create the Proclamation Line, colonists were upset. The land that they were fighting for was being given to the Native Americans, and they weren’t allowed to settle on it. Although this was widely figured to be temporary, it still upset the colonists, which led to further tensions.
